Favourite 5

Instant noodles are a quick and easy meal to whip up. Whether it be your morning bowl of noodles or a late night snack you can get it prepared from start to finish in under 5minutes. We decided to try out a few of the varieties you can find in the grocery stores just to see what is palatable and interesting. Here is what we found!

Maggi Kari Ayam

Of course this Malaysian favourite would be number one on our list. The curry is what makes it stand out from all the other noodles on the shelf. This is good all on it’s own or filled to the brim with veggies, egg, meat and more. It’s so versatile and definitely satisfying when you feel the need for something savoury to hit the spot.

Mi Sedap Ayam Istimewa

This simple noodle with no fancy toppings is just delicious. The package comes with the bumbu packet, chilli, and oil to give it a rich flavour. The oniony taste is strong which makes it oh-so-good! Make it with less water for added taste and don’t over cook the noodles, as they are best with just a little bite to them.

"Slippery slurpy noodles..Mmm..."

Neoguri Seafood and Spicy

This Korean concoction features a thick chewy udon noodle with a wonderful spicy seafood broth. There is also a packet of dehydrated veggies and seaweed that gives it that extra oomph! This takes a little longer to cook than your average noodle so make sure you follow package instructions to avoid having tough uncooked noodles.

Shin Ramyun Hot and Spicy

This is another Korean favourite of ours. The udon noodles are thick and chewy and the broth is packed with flavour and heat. The spiciness is perfect for those who love their broth to have a chilli kick. You’ll clear up your sinuses and be sweating by the time you’re finished with a bowl of this.

Nissin Tokyo Shoyu Flavour

This Japanese noodle is light and enjoyable. It is especially good if you’re not after something spicy. It cooks up in 3 minutes and it even has a sprinkling package of nori seaweed for some added flavour. Throw in some veggies and swirl in an egg for a filling meal.

Nissan noodles are part of a HK stable diet. They are eaten for breakfast, lunch , dinner, snacks and at midnight...it is very very much so part of HK culture..
