For Valentine's day you might want to stir up one of these for a little kick or maybe to even get that special someone to fall in love with you. Go on, lock your cynic in a drawer and let your romantic take flight...
Double, double, toil and trouble…Fire burn, and cauldron bubble!
Okay so maybe in our modern day world potions aren’t quite stirred in a cauldron with a witch in a pointy black hat hovering as it boils…but it can be a bit amusing to mix up a concoction with your loved one…an aphrodisiacal drink of sorts. So forget that sex therapist and stir up one of these instead…no cauldron required!
Love Potion Tea
This isn’t an aphrodisiac as such but a potion that could be used to bring some love into your life. Brew this tea on a Friday during a waxing moon. Drink some for yourself and give some to the lover you desire. This is all in the name of fun of course and the results aren’t guaranteed!

Fiery Chilli Mojito
We all know that a little bit of chilli can kick-start just about anything! It helps to stimulate the circulation and contains capsaicin, which is known to give a temporary high. So make this as spicy as you can stand it and enjoy the refreshing mojito with a fiery burn.
4 kalamnsi limes
1 tsp brown sugar
Half a chilli padi, sliced
Pound limes, chilli, sugar and mint leaves
Add ginger beer (adjust according to your taste)
Garnish with mint and a whole chilli
Makes 3-4 shooters
Fever! When you drink me, what a lovely way to burn...
Tabasco Oyster Shooter
Oysters are the cliché of all aphrodisiac foods. These slippery critters are chock full of zinc which have a positive effect on the libido. Whether this is fact or myth hasn’t been proven yet, but even if it’s all in the mind, it does work as a catalyst right? So go find some fresh ones and mix up this fizzy lemony Tabasco shot to go with it.
Juice of a lemon
2 tsp sugar
Some drops of Tabasco
Stir sugar in lemon juice until it dissolves.
Add soda water
Run some lemon on the edge of the shooter glass and dust the rim with pepper
If your oysters are petit enough, drop one in the glass before pouring in the lemon soda
Add a 2 drops of Tabasco and down it in one
*If your oyster is too large you can either pour shooter on the oyster before eating it or shoot it down after the oyster.
Makes 3 shooters
Go easy on the tabasco! And since you have tabasco why not make a virgin mary shooter? Simply sub the soda water with tomato juice and add just a dash of Worcester sauce.
