Because there is doing road and beautifulcation JB, a lot of place have move. The kway tiaw kia in jln lumba kuda, I think they move already. Please don't try your gut on the kari laksa in JB. The bak kut also different then KL. I think everything u eat will taste sweet(especially kari laksa, wantan mee-they put chili tomato sauce and sometimes no dark soy sauce. The char siew, dye with red colouring and just cook in kuali not BBQ. [Posted By MM]

Try the clypot chicken rice opp. a petrol station near the TMN SRI TEBRAU HAWKERS CENTRE. The rice is cook using charcoal, and peanut soup also nice. If u in the hawker centre, try ikan bakar-just b'careful (rip off)-s,porean tend to come here a lot. The best otok-otok must come from MUAR-also b'careful of imitation. Never try the fishball mee and prawn mee, u will regret. The pork mee, they just celup the pork meat in hot boiling soup. The mee rebus Stulang laut located in 0.01 Tingkat Bawah Bangunan Wisma Naha,Stulang Laut. [Posted By MM]

Just ordinary soup but try the hakka fried pork (pork chop marinade with hakka ingridients). Don't get 'sesat' around Permas or JB area at night,u don't now where u turn to next,or road digging and lubang. [Posted By Anonymous]

use the PERMAS JAYA BRIDGE until u reach traffic light.u can see the new oppenning outlet of jaya jusco on u left. Take a turn right heading to condominium block and golf course. U must go more inside and turn left (use as reference-hope it may help) 1.http://permasjaya.mybestproperty.com/index.php?pg=location
Hi Jonathan,
The Nasi Lemak stall is situated at the mee rebus stall too.But unfortunately sometimes the nasi stall is not open for business.I have a better place for Nasi Lemak. One of the best nasi lemak in J.B
It is at Jalan Ngee Heng.It is situated after the Ngee Heng primary School and opposite SIGS Primary and Secondary Girls School. [Posted By JackRyan]

I am from JB, i like ah-hua kuey teow situated just off the street from Sg. Segget. I love the dried mee with loads of chilli sauce and vinegar. I go for the basic small or regular size and not the additional things like abalone and fish slices. [Posted By Andrea]

kuey teow + dark soy soup(hak si yow tang) + your choices of pig meat from head to toes = KUEY TEOW KIA

The choices of meat in small plates -intestines,pig ear, pork meat(fat or slim),pig heart, tongue, pig stomach & everything that MAT SALLEH would'nt dare to eat!!!

Others - ham choi, chicken feets,boil eggs,chai poh tan,sambal ha mei(udang kering),soy duck, taufu

In JB it cost less then rm20 to enjoy all the above for 2 person

its smelly for person who does not enjoy eating everthing inside a pig but u will get used to it [Posted By QQ]

Dear Andrea,
There are other kuey teows in J.B that is good other than Ah Hua's.Well for an example try the Kuey Teow soup at Jalan Ah Siang in the evenings. But make sure you go there at about 8pm cause the suop would be very sweet at that time.Moreoever the price is reasonable. [Posted By JackRyan]

Dear Babe_KL,
Well telling you about this Kuey teow kia is not a good idea. You have to try it.Just try the lean meat, egg, tahu or lean meat with a lil fat first before everything else.I am sure you would like that. But the most important thing is to get a stall selling kuey teow kia that dont have that strong pork smell.I recomend the Kuey Teow kia stall in Cedar Point in Century Garden oppsosite Plaza Pelangi. But that stall only operates in the mornings. The other one is at Taman Maju just at a corner shop selling lots of food varieties. It is the same street as Plaza Pelangi. These are a few places that operates in the mornings and dont have that foul pork smell. It is basically a Teo Chew food.Cant get in KL.Try it you would like it. Try to make it to a coffee shop right in the heart of J.B town. This coffee shop s situated at Jalan Trus.Jalan Trus is the road where Kotaraya Shopping complex is situated. The coffee shop is opposite the 4D TOTO.It's a corner shop.Try the coffee and there are nasi lemak and mee rebus sold there too by a malay hawker. But the mee rebus is not that good tho.Well opposite that coffee shop you will see a traditional wood fire bread making shop.Be there about 3pm-4pm cause it closes at 5pm fpr the day.Another tip is that the bakery has fresh breads out of the stove about 3:30pm.Try the otak bun,red bean bun, kaya bun.Ask the boss what is good.Traditional bread toast are served too at the coffee shop. Dear QQ,
Sorry for the late reply.I didnt actually see that posting by you.
1.Wantan mee - Shop the same street as Plaza Pelangi. It opens at about 2:30am in the morning. That is one of the best in town.
2.Nasi Lemak - Roadside stall at opposite SIGS school at Jalan Ngee Heng.Only opens at about 8pm.
3.Dinner - Restaurant Son Mee at pelangi.Same row of shop with the pelangi 7-11.Serves good steak. Also serves chinese food.
Breakfast - Try the shop directly opposite the MAA building.(same street as New York Hotel)It serves fresh fish soup.Bak kut teh is not so good there tho.You can try the kari mee there too.It looks very spicy but it really aint.
