I have what I call carpet-bombing strategy when it comes to flushing out flavours and colours of any country I visit — comb as many places and eateries as possible and leave no stone unmoved.

Try to never visit the same eatery twice. The idea is to go dig out suggestions from reliable sources, trusted pals and obscure recommendation that are brutally honest. Yes, you take your chances and likely wind up with the good, the bad as well as the ugly, but that's what makes up the total sum of a land's character and colour.

Easy if you rarely or have never visited the place, but the problem is with places that you visit more often than usual. It gets challenging — like Malaysia, especially her capital Kuala Lumpur. I share four memorable bites and meals I've had there recently on this umpteenth time I've visited.
