2 Days in Yarra Valley: Vineyard Voyeur, Artisanal Appetites, Fabulous Feta

We spent two glorious days in Yarra Valley. The sun could not be sunnier nor the sky any bluer. The views of undulating grape vines and farm patches with grazing bucolic cows are postcard perfect.


Drives here are languorous and there is much to indulge on. From artisan products to beautifully crafted meals sourced from fresh local produce (and of course more wine you can hope to drink), Yarra Valley is a little piece of sun-drenched paradise. We chatted with the charming Dominique himself at Dominique Portet while munching on meat-filled pies.

Mandala, a young winery does exuberant family days each quarter with Brazillian inspired menus

Rae's @ Balgownie Estate where we spent the night served the most scrumptious dinner of the whole trip.

Domain Chandon served their sparkling vintages with cold cuts, cheeses and succulent oysters.

De Bortoli has a seasonal menu that makes the most out of fresh local produce but I really can't get enough of their soft homemade herb cheese.

Yering Station organises a farmer's market every 3rd Sunday and they have a great produce store where you can stock up on edible souvenirs.

Yarra Valley Dairy has been winning cheese awards for this delectable feta for 3 years running.
