Twas a blistering cold Christmas Eve
With nary a peep in sight
Shimmering snowflakes sprinkled down
Like powdery sugar shaken atop a cake
Christmas trees adorned in their finest ornaments
Glittering and sparkling as they swayed in the wind
Gingerbread families huddled in their homes for warmth
With a warm cup of cocoa and marshmallows in hand
Oh what glee! To decorate a Christmas tree...
We're waiting for Santa to come!
Gingerbread children eagerly waiting
For the jingling bells of the reindeer dash
Their ears perked up for a ‘ho ho ho’
While sleepy eyes dream of pressies to be had
I'm so excited I can't sleep!
Midnight strikes and Santa makes his rounds
With a large bottomless sack in hand
In and out of homes he dashes not making a sound
Not even while down the chimney he falls
What? No pressie for Mr. Frosty?
Filling trees with exciting presents
Enjoying his warm milk and cookie treat
To fuel up for his next ride
And then on to the next gingerbread kid in need
"Midnight strikes and Santa makes his rounds "
