Tanglin is on the Tanglin food court off Jalan Cenderasari at Lake Gardens. On Jalan Parliament heading towards KL, turn left at the set of traffic lights heading into Butterfult Farm. Follow the road, at the intersection, turn left. Drive until there is a right intersection, turn in and the food court is on the right. Food is between 3.00 - 6.00 . Get the tea from the Chinese old man. Smooth and delicious. Good luck

Talking abt Village Park - I was there last weekend and saw a sign saying no cameras. I guess in future, it will have to be sneak pixs taken with a phone camera.

I totally agree that Village Park is a must try. Had been there for tea for two consecutive weekends. They served the best ice white coffee. I think what determines a good nasi lemak is the sambal and the coconut rice and Village Park scored excellently for thei sweet spicy smabal with crispy anchovies ( i can eat this by itself) and the nicely fragrant coconut rice. Choose from an extensive selection of side dishes but I think the fried chicken goes best with the nasi lemak. Also, don't forget to chomp down at least a slice of their crispy roti bakar no matter how full you are.

In Taman Tun Dr Ismail

(Roadside stall on Jalan Athinahappan) A Malay couple sells the best Nasi Lemak at the bus stop near the TM building. Mon - Sat about 7.15 - 9.15 am daily (they don't sell on public holidays too).

If you like the nasi lemak bungkus - I know 2 places selling good ones.
1. At the stall within Great Eastern Mall, Jln Ampang. Located in LG near to the escalator and lift. Very nice that they sell out by mid day.

2. If you drive pass the Sungai Buloh rest area (KL -> North direction). The kedai kopi is the first or the second shop from the left. They sell nasi lemak bungkus from more than one vendor so you can try and see which one you prefer!

Nasi Lemak Tanjung Puteri... Location is Hartamas, near the traffic light junction for Desa Sri Hartamas/KLGCC/Jln Duta, etc. Self service. Many kinds of sambal. Nicer ambience than Antarabangsa. P Ramlee theme... The ais kachang is nice as well...

Hi Mel,

Could you please be more specific?
The traffic light junction for Desa Sri Hartmas and KLGCC are different junctions.
Also, is it a stall or a shophouse?

Thanks!

Tanjung Puteri is located at Sri Hartamas (The opposite side to Desa Sri Hartamas). This is where the Petronas Station is. If you are from PJ, you turn right into Sri Hartamas from the HARTAMAS junction (turning left brings you to Mont Kiara).

Tanjung Puteri is a stall on the elevated concrete foundation on your right as you turn at the traffic lights (look right). Quite a cool place. Nasi lemak has halba so ppl who don't like halba might find the rice a bit wierd. The sambal and other stuff is great. Ambience is great as well with local oldies wafting in the background.

Serves murtabak johor as well.

Best Nasi Lemak Bungkus for me is in the Jalan 223 food court in PJ. This foodcourt is on the same road as Amway.
2nd stall on left when you enter the foodcourt.

Other good nasi lemaks:
1. Zaman in Kuantan (opposite the Army Air Base)
2. Stall opposite Sri Petaling Hotel. It's in front of a mamak shop.

There use to be a realy good chinese nasi lemak in Section 14, PJ at the wet market. The rice was like crack and the sambal must have been heroin(I always asked for extra but she wa so stingy). Ist there anyone who remembers it and knows anywhere remotely as good?

Yes yes yes asian-malaysian, I remembered that one. I have eaten it for the past 27-28 years, then suddenly, she dissapeared. You referring to big butt lady ? Sorry ah, not trying to be mean, apparently, the locals call her that. Her rice is to die for, her sotong sambal ... wahhhh, even her boiled egg taste so good .. myyyy, thinking about it, I salivate already.

Does anyone know if the nasi lemak antarabangsa in kampung baru has any other branches? Last week, I saw a stall in a malay cafe/coffee shop in Taman Equine, Seri Kembangan (not far from the Jaya jusco) with a sign proclaimng it to be nasi lemak antarabangsa from kampung baru. The stall was closed so I couldnt test the veracity of the claim.

Tanjung Puteri is open at night. Actually I find the ambience of the place outranks the food so it would probably be a good place to take your wife. If your going to bungkus, Restoran Mahbub in Lucky Gardens is a better bet or, if your wife insists, you can have the (in)famous Lee Nasi Ayam Panas in Bansar Baru though I wouldnt recommend it.

YEs, I agree to 223 food court for good nasi lemak bungkus. Close to the BEST, which is Zaman in Kuantan, opposite the army air base.

Best nasi lemak I've eaten so far is in Sri Petaling opposite the hotel. The stall is right in front of a mamak shop, opens around 8.30am, and sells out by 10am. yummy..

Just tried the nasi lemak at Dang Wangi which was bungkused by my kind colleague (thanks shu). Think the name of the shop is "Nasi Lemak Dang Wangi" and its really good. Foodielianne, you should really try this one because the rice taste like the old Section 14 one (even the its a malay shop).

Used to go for the Nasi Lemak at Chef Rasa Sayang in Imbi. But it's getting really expensive now (close to RM 20!). But they sure know how to make good nasi lemak, from the rice to the chicken rendang to the sides (sambal, acah)

There is this old lady that sells good chinese nasi lemak (non-halal i'm afraid) and I have taken it since I was a baby! (ok maybe not la). What makes hers different is she gives vegetable curry, her sambal is with udang kering and her fried p*rk cutlets (not sure if I can even mention it here raspberry) is just, unforgetable. For those who know KL, she is at the morning market in Lorong Tiong Nam, behind The Mall, KL (used to be Yaohan, now Parkson)

And for those outstation heading south, please make it a point to stop at the Ayer Keroh bridge restaurant for their nasi lemak (same side as Southbound, no need to cross the bridge). It's a corner lot, next to a shop selling local tidbits

Nasi Lemak at Sakura!!! Has anyone tried it? It's superb! The sambal ada umphh, rice taste delicious, chicken nicely done - just perfect! Comes together with some peanuts. Portion is big too but unsure of the price now.

Village Park nasi lemak is a must try as well. Reasonably priced at RM5.50 per plate, it comes together with a choice of meat. The sambal is sweet yet spicy. But you might have trouble getting a place to seat though cos it's always packed!!! And it's recommended by TV3 Makan Makan too. Need I say more? hahaha...

The nasi lemak at All About Mee, located at Pusat Bandar Damansara, is good too. It's at the building behind CIMB bank. The sambal here is really good and the rice comes with curry gravy. Is worth a try. RM7.90 I think.

Enjoy!!! wink

Years ago had tried the nasi lemak at Kelana Jaya, somewhere near SS3 or its whereabouts. Its at a food stall near the roadside foodcourt, served with fried chicken or sambal sotong. Crowded as well. Can't remember how to get there. Any one any idea?
