Are you referring to laksam? The one with coconut milk? [Posted By Dim Dim]

Yes, the one with coconut milk. Tried the Little Penang Cafe, it was o-k. Know anywhere else? [Posted By TriggerFish]

There is a corner coffee shop in Paramount Garden, PJ with a stall(non-halal) which sells Curry Laksa and Asam Laksa, and they will mix the soups, or the noodles or the ingredients if you ask them. [Posted By Anonymous]

if you are not fussy about hawker stalls, there is one thai stall in front of the post office of jln dewan sultan sulaiman (off jln TAR) that sells laksam. It is very good. It starts selling food at 7pm till morning. [Posted By Anonymous]

There is a genuine Siamese lemak laksa at the JayaJusco foodcourt in 1 Utama. Think it is at the corner next to the tepanyaki stall. Honestly it is better then most of the lemak laksa up north.By the way they also serve good asam laksa. [Posted By jc]

I have tried Nyonya Lemak Laksa in Top Hat (ex-Bon Ton Restaurant) in Jalan Kia Peng. Try to see whether it meets your standard. [Posted By Nora]

Hi Nora,

So, how did TopHat fare foodwise? I've been trying to go to Bonton for the past few months but it kept on sayiing they're not ready for business, license not approve yet and all sorts of excuses!!!

And did you all know that the current GM of TopHat used to be the GM of Bonton...

Hey, I've finally made it to TopHat yesterday! Yes, I had the Nyonya Laksa but they forgot to add the prawns and chicken meat in my bowl but not in my friend's bowl though. My friend was showing off her large prawn in front of me! Hmmmm.... it tasted so-so only but it's certainly value for money - RM17 for the set with 2 tophats, laksa, dessert plus coffee/tea. The Laksa Lemak at Little Penang Cafe is still the top for my taste.

OK, let's talk about TopHat, where BonTon used to occupied. The place is very much brighter since they've painted the walls white. Awww... they peeled away all those wine corks which BonTon stuck at their wine cellar. Haven't got the time to check out the rest of the bungalow. Will definitely be back there again to do so.

The food is similar to what BonTon used to have. Even recognised some of the familiar faces of the waiters and waitresses. However, service is not as attentive as before.

Thx for the suggestions! Will check the laksa spots when I can esp the one that someone mentioned is better than ones up North...I recently discovered that Red Chamber in Telawi,Bangsar serves the once-elusive laksa lemak/siam. It's pretty decent though could do better on the thickness of the soup. [Posted By Trigger Fish]
