I heard that Bubba Gump is opening somewhere near the curve. Anyone knows about this?

Something like that. I think its Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Someone opened a franchise based on the Forrest Gump Movie. Bubba Gump is the guy who owned the scrimp company I think. Was in US awhile ago and if they are as good as they are in the States, then Manhattan Fish Market better watch out.

There is a shoplot on the 1st floor near the Ayam Penyet place that's currently under renovation with the signage of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Looks the same as the ones in the US which I've tried. They have very nice american style seafood with thematic names like "bucket of boat trash" and a cool flip card system to call a waiter and loads of Forrest Gump trivia. Should be a fun place if they maintain the quality or hopefully surpass it for the local seafood fans who are much more picky about seafood quality than the folks overseas.

I'm pretty sure it's opened now. Haven't checked it out yet, but definitely will. Saw a couple of Bubba Gump restaurants in the U.S., but couldn't have any because they weren't halal.

Lauched alredi this week. Food ok lah. About RM60 bucks per person. Still new so if you go, please tolerate some service and food issues. But got potential.

Tried already. Service was friendly. Food was ok and the portion was very large. I went for the Shrimper's Heaven which came out for Chilly, Coconut, Fried and Tempura style of prawns. Fried stuffs but not so oily. Side dishes of coleslaw and fries was ok as well; with 3 types of dips to go with. Couldn't finish for 2 of us. Will check out their dessert soon which seems not bad.

Went by the place yesterday but a bit too early for lunch. I do like the layout of the place and am glad to see the bar is fully operational. It used to be the case that places like American chillies would be open for almost a month without being able to tap draught beer because they could never get the license out from the authorities on time. Theres no pork on the menu if thats what you mean, deenevo.

The place seems to be rather popular. I have gone there twice over a weekend, but saw long lines. Maybe third time lucky? And yes, this is halal and its franchise is owned by the late Tan Sri Nasamuddin (NAZA Motors). So no need to worry about that.

For those who have been here, do they serve biscuits at BubbaGump (like the basket of biscuits served at Red Lobster restaurants, US). I crave for these yummy biscuits.

I didn't see any biscuits like Red Lobster there. I was also comparing this place to Red Lobster and I reckon, Red Lobster is still better.

I did see quite a few kids here but in order for you to d/check if they cater for younger ones like babies with baby chairs and etc, give them a call to check. The tel no is 7710 9862/63

Was there a few weeks ago. Quite irritating experience, whole place jammed with staff. I think some kinda training thing, all the local or asian staff are shadowed by a white person as they take orders, chatted with you to be so called friendly, I call it emotional labour. Meanwhile the shadow looked on sulkily. Empty tables inside not filled quickly while peole are queuing outside ( same thing in Ding Dai Fung at Gardens, is this a marketing ploy?) Portions are huge. strawberry dessert had 4 large scoops of icecream, big blop of cream, some kind of cake and strawberries! Music super loud inside so forget about conversation. No biscuits. Couldn't finish all our food even though 2 of us ordered one main (overly sweet beef sandwich), one appetiser and one dessert and a salad.

Had it for lunch on Saturday. Most of the food was highly over salted. Worst of all, I came down with food poisoning and I suspect some off shrimp to be the cause. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Babe_kl, I personally think you can forgo Bubba Gump at the Curve. As per the previous reviews, the food was salty, although portions were large. It's nothing like the original Bubba Gump I had in San Francisco. Eat at Chilli's or TGIF. Definitely better.

I've been there once but the food is not superbly amazing and the portions were huge and greasy.

The drinks were interesting but should be treated as dessert due to the richness and the sweetness.

I'm not a huge fan of seafood so I don't see any reason for me to come back. But someone mentioned burgers were good? I might try.

But whoever mentioned TGIF and thinks the burgers are any good, man they're so wrong. Even a Big Mac tastes better than Friday's burger. Steaks are fine but the burgers are horrendous.

Had some shrimpers heaven and a bucket of boat trash last weekend. Not impressed with the food. very dry and too much flavorings I think. The place is full though. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing.
