As this is the season for durian, please share where you go for your durian fix smile I'll start.
My favourite place to go is this stall by the roadside in SS2. It is just behind the police station and BHP. There are 2 stalls but i go for the one with the white banner . and oh they have a website to at www.durianss2.com.my.

got a variety of durian but i like most is their service. they have water, tissue all foc. If you want coconut water to cool you down its awailable for a price....

I know that place. Quite famous for durians. I think once they had a durian buffet for RM10! Anyway, just to share. there is a good durian store place near Greenview PJ at the small foodshacks.

we went to Bao Sheng durian orchard in penang wid a huge group of ppl last sun!!! i learnt a lot from the owner. it's pretty expensive i think rm45 for the buffet but they serve a lot of holo (gourd), red prawns etc etc i can't recall all their names :p

since i was having a terrible cough i did not partake in the buffet but was urged to try one called eu bak (pork fat). the colour is similar like the fats layer on a piece of siew yuk, creamy wid a tinge of bitter. nice but the best part was it left a short numbing sensation in the mouth and tongue. the owner said only fresh durians that dropped less than an hour will leave such aftertaste. he said this is the best kinda taste that they the farmers would look for.

babe... for such a lucky person to have that chance, you were so unlucky to have the cough.

45 per pax... ok la, if you're planning to gorge on 3-4 red prawns each should cover already.

I saw a durian stall at Uptown near the hawker square. Anyone tried it yet? There's a sign saying "Dijamin makan", I assume they guarantee the durians are "eat-worthy". Hoping someone has some feedback before I head on down this week.

AH... can you believe this...I was driving down ss2 and I saw at the corner of the main road approaching the Kanaan roundabout, the ss2 durian stall has a all you can eat buffet for 9.90. Omg... according to the banner its only for mon-fri and they seem to serve all manner of durians from udang merah, tawa, d24 etc etc.

Anyone want to come buffet with me? Arghhhh I can't stand it anymore. Must have durian.

Durian season is back and I got accosted at the local mydin in bkt jelutong. A van full of durians from somewhere in Pahang near the coast apparently and 5 guys trying their ardent best to sell the fruit.

The best was selling at 13 a kilo, followed by 9 a kilo and 6 a kilo. A bit pricey but since they put udang merah at 9 a kilo I thought it was still ok la...

Put it simply, never buy at night when a simple cut and taste does not show you the whole fruit. Don't let three guys serve you especially when they are weighing in the durians in sacks unless you're buying all from the same price range.

I'm not overly disappointed, RM180 for 17 kilos of fruit was not a bad haul. 10 plus kilos was the 13 a kilo variety but when I got back some of the fruit in there were the 9 a kilo grade. So remember my pointers everyone. Even durian sellers can be unscrupulous people!

But to tell you the truth, I've cut open 3 of the best durians I've eaten this year. Seriously. 1 of them was really weird though because all the seeds in the fruit was attached to the core of the durian. Let me tell you, that fruit was the hardest for me to open, ever. Really ever ever... In the end I had to finish half the fruit that night because I couldn't take it out with out the flesh turning to mush. I did salvage some with a spoon but it didn't last the next morning cause I ate it the moment I opened the fridge. raspberry

So ok la... 3 of the best fruits I've eaten this year so far took all my irritation away. spending 180 bucks on bucket full of less than d24 quality fruit, some even bordering on durian kg standards can get you pretty irritated. I finished 2 fruits last night on my own. Had 1 turned to pengat cause that was the one that bordered on the durian kg standard... and i've still a bowl left of the good one. Gave 2 fruits to my neighbour so I don't know if they had the better ones or not, and I'm left with 4 tupperwares of middling level durian.

If you guys got a trusted durian seller who's not about to rip you off, please share and introduce the rest of us.
