now this getting interesting, seems like the local Chinese restaurants are serving this type of rooster these days. in cantonese it's called Yim Kai.

so far i've tasted at Chef Tam in Tmn Bidara, Selayang. the meat texture and taste is very superior. reminded me of how chicken should taste like, errm like how those chicken my mother used to rear!

last weekend i tried at Kuala Lipis, even witness how they castrate the rooster :p

i saw banner at Tuck Kee Tmn Maluri Kepong serving them. Lanatir told me On Pong (somewhere in Ampang near Foong2 YTF) is serving them too.

errr i supposed this is a very Chinese thingy right?

If it is, Im not nearly chinese enough to qualify.sick The poor beggars are born with few enough things to look forward to in life! Thats going on my deal breaker list together with that deep fried live fish dish I saw on tv.

I was there in Kuala Lipis but a bit too late to join the lunch.
:-(

Anyway, the Chef Tham lunch was great too. I think his steamed chicken was one of the best I have eaten. And the rice steamed with the chicken stock was exquisite. Delicious without any accompaniments.
