New here, is there any cari makan session ? I'm interested to join in as i'm a food lover but dont own a blog. Of late i'm having craving for seafood esp fish and prawns LOL !

Hmm... that sounds like a great idea. We used to have food crawls every month but suddenly people got really busy. Perhaps its time we restart that again. Meeting old and new friends over good food! Thanks for the suggestion

Whatever happen to the Nasi Lemak Contest? Oh by the by, just to let everyone know that Atan, the owner of CT Garden (nasi lemak in kg baru near KSS) passed a few weeks back. Died of cancer. Donno if his kids are going to carry on but it seems that way.

Condolences to Atan's Family. Hope his kids carry on the tradition. Great Nasi Lemak place

It's still super active phyre. Just that kopitiam traffic has been a tad slower these days coz we are getting increased twitter and facebook traffic. Two things that we are doing in the next month is organising a small food crawl and a new thing we call "RM10 Lunch with Friedchillies" at our office. Will post these up soon. Thanks for asking!

I'm eagerly anticipating the food crawl. Please post some pictures of the RM10 lunches coz I'm pretty sure I'll not be able to make it. I'll be there in spirit (my spirit doesn't have to pay to be there right?).

"RM10 Lunch with Friedchillies" idea is good but unfortunately i work in KL. Otherwise would defintiely love to join if its on weekend. Just let me know how do I get these news :D and I'll be there in a jiffy !

We normally post up the food crawls on this kopitiam. With us being on twitter and facebook, will also be on these platforms as well.

RM10 Lunch will most probably be on facebook and twitter since we don't know when we can do this. This is designed to be done when we are free and can cook for people. So twitter and facebook are geared towards faster information flow. Thanks for asking...

How about going for a food crawl to uncover good food in kampung baru sometime end of this month?

Kg Baru is always good for me... my old kampung after all. However, some of the nice places that I've frequently haunt, has seen better days. Quality and standards are falling faster than our standard of living. One that I'll miss is the small place behind the proton service center that serves awesome air jagung... Owner made enough money to buy 3 units in that new apartment nearby.

Still, there's still some places left. There's this nice nasi ayam place along Raja Abdullah. Its definitely malay style, but everyone I brought there loves its crispy double fried chicken.

Sorry for the late reply guys! Was away on assignment for a week. I am planning to do this sometime end of this month. Honestly, I have not been venturing at Kampung Baru for awhile now. Think its time for a revisit just to uncover some of the hidden gems there.

Can hardly wait for it boss. Anticipation..

ahh too last min ... this friday I cant unfortunately. Got dinner plans booked from last week.

Many people not in favour of this Friday it seems. So, perhaps I might change it to the weekday next week instead. Will keep you guys posted.
