Our Palm Oil Shorties at Aliyaa rocked! And of course, as with any Friedchillies event, food was aplenty! We even had to pack the leftovers for guests to take home with them. The theme ‘Steaks, Sausages, Music, Food and Film’ best describes the tone of the event.

Many guests showed up for our shorties
The Palm Oil Shorties was a way to create more awareness on the issues surrounding Palm Oil. We had students and professionals send in their submissions for our competition and on Saturday we played the four that were shortlisted. For the student category we had ‘My Palm Oil Estate’ by Steven Yap and “Let The Truth Be Told’ by Jared Lee. In the professional category we had ‘A Special… Continue reading »
Instant noodle lovers get a load of this!

This week the 7th World Instant Noodle Summit took place at the KL Convention Centre. The leaders of the World Instant Noodle Association (WINA) met to discuss the future of instant noodles as a dietary staple.
Did you know that in 2009 more than 92billion servings of instant noodles were consumed? It is these numbers that are getting the instant noodle giants to look at what they can improve in terms of health, taste, convenience, hygiene, and price.
In general, instant noodles don’t rank very high in terms of being a health food, which is why more efforts are being made to change this. Maggi has just launched their new Atta Wheat Flour… Continue reading »
Our beautiful office is finally ready and we wanted to invite some friends and food bloggers over to check it out. So the date was set and the response was overwhelming. Over 30 fans and friends showed up to partake in delicious eats and a laugh or two.

The flame and bright red door marks the rendezvous spot...
All the food and drinks were prepared by us in some way, shape, or form. Aida, our Chef in Residence, baked yummilicious treats such as a decadent chocolate cake and the much-loved butterscotch pecan cake along with a ton of pretty cupcakes. Shida, one of our hosts, cooked up a spread of goodies with treats such as bihun goreng, three types of quiches, cucur udang, and more! Aurora J. and Captain… Continue reading »

Fans who were lucky enough to secure tickets to the dinner will be tantalised by Rainford's BBQ creation of Brick Chicken, Rubbed and Grilled Beef Tenderloin and Onion Water Lamb Chop.

Finally after all those long weeks of planning and juggling 15 balls in the air, the circus known as The Annual Foodsters' Awards came to town. Well it came to Pannaz in a cosy little corner of Damansara Perdana but in our world of FriedChillies it's a big deal indeed, worthy of a Big Top, fanfare and dancing elephants on tightropes. It's our first awards of many to come to mainly celebrate the very best of Malaysian street food and mom and pop eateries. Before we get down to the nitty gritty of the night, we like to give a shout out to our generous sponsors, Maggi for all the lovely hampers and goodie bag stuff and HTC for their sleek sexy phones we used to GPS the winners. Also to Chef Anas of Pannaz who shifted out 80 main courses promptly and throwing in the canapes for free. A FriedChillies salute to all of you.
On the night all the guests got one of these little… Continue reading »
