Electrolux kicked off the 2010 edition of their annual Electolux Convention last weekend with the showcase and preview of their latest groundbreaking appliances. This event had three rooms each running with their own creative concepts of product displays of their current appliances and appliances that will be launched in the coming months. The rooms were known as the Electrolux Laundry Mart, Electrolux Cafe, and the Electrolux Fashion House. Each room had a different concept and staff were on hand to showcase highlights and products were on display available for hands on testing by visitors.

Whether you are a vegetarian or not, the array of food at Kechara Oasis is sure to please. They recently added some new specialties to their menu and we headed over to check it out.

There’s the appetizer known as the Five Mandala of Prosperity which signifies harmony, wealth, success, longevity, and fame/reputation. The dish has satay skewers cooked in a sticky sweet sauce, fried Vietnamese spring rolls, a medley of sautéed veggies known as the Kechara garden, five spice sausage slices, and fried butter mushrooms. This is perfect for sharing banquet style with a large group.

There’s also a mock steamed miso cod, the “fish” made with oats, soya beans and seaweed. The seaweed gives this a fishy taste and gives this dish a wonderful flavour. This is great with the mushroom kailan with kelp….a slippery dish packed with a lot of flavour and nutrition.Continue reading »

On October 8th last week Electrolux launched it's concept store in Solaris Dutamas. This is in conjunction with their 90 year anniversary. The Concept Store is a new way to shop for appliances where customers can experience the wide range of Electrolux products first-hand. The store is divided into the cooking zone where a full kitchen range is on display and then the washing and cleaning zones for their washing machine and vacuum lines.

So... the rumours are true. Krispy Kreme is opening in KL. If you are a donuts fan, this is some news you'd want to hear. The first Krispy Kreme outlet in Malaysia will open at Berjaya Times Square on 27 April. Exact time 10am. And we heard (unconfirmed) that the first customer at the launch at Berjaya Times Square will get one year's supply of donuts! We also heard reports that Mid Valley Megamall is set for another Krispy Kreme outlet, scheduled to open in May.

The award winning regional low cost carrier AirAsia is now offering more localised dining-in-the-sky experience by serving Old Town Coffee. Since March 2009, the carrier has been serving 3-in-1 Classic Blend Old Town Coffee to passengers at a rate of 300 per day. The coffee costs RM5.00 per cup and is available from regional routes originating from KL. By this month, it is expected that the Indonesian and Thai hubs will also be carrying the local brand.
