When I first set foot here I was expecting a French menu befitting the name. The only thing that is French in this restaurant however is the freshly baked baguettes and croissants.
The menu seemed to lean more towards Spanish Mediterranean food with a tapas menu and paella along with some other generic western dishes such as pasta and burgers. Upon doing a little more research I discovered the link…Fitou is a village in France that is situated close to the Mediterranean and Spain.
Initially spying Paella on the menu we inquired about that. Unfortunately this takes up to 30minutes to prepare, so we decided to try it another time and started off with some tapas instead; the calamari with a lemon garlic mayonnaise and the pork sausage sautéed with chilli padi and onions. The calamari was fried well and tasted good with the mayo. The sausages were a bit of a disappointment as though they used the regular processed hot dog sausage rather than a spicy chorizo. So while it was tasty, it was something that could have easily been replicated at home.
To balance out our meal with some greens we decided to share the feta salad. I enjoyed the pungent creaminess of the feta with the juicy olives and the citrusy vinaigrette. For me you can’t go wrong with olives, feta, and crisp salad greens. It’s refreshing and a large bowl could be a great meal in itself.
While looking through the menu my “burgie” sense picked up on the burger with real pork bacon. I knew immediately that I had to try it! I was pleasantly surprised when my burger made its way to the table. It was huge and on a homemade crusty bun. While the patty was not as juicy as others I have had, I could tell that quality meat was used. And the bread was exquisite! The crust has a beautiful crunch and yet the bread itself is soft and fluffy. It made for a different burger experience and the crispy pork bacon finished it off perfectly.

While I didn’t get a chance to sample my friends’ pasta dishes I was told that they were good. One cool thing I noticed is that the Carbonara is served with a single raw egg yolk that is supposed to be mixed in to add to the creaminess of the dish. This is not done in many places and it excited me that they were serving it the traditional way.
By the time we were done with our food we were stuffed to the brim and decided to share a dessert. The dessert of the day was a white chocolate parfait served with an almond biscuit. The parfait had a nice flavour but was hard and gelatinous at the same time. This texture made it unappealing and difficult to enjoy. The biscuit was also hard and dry. I can’t speak for their other desserts but in the future I would give this dish a miss.
One thing that makes this cosy restaurant unique is their little wine tasting room with a great selection of boutique wines. They also have a big screen TV on the deck area for sports fans to catch the game while still enjoying the view of the park and lake. This neighborhood restaurant is charming and is a great place to hang out for a romantic dinner, a lazy Sunday brunch, or for a round of drinks with the friends.

The bun is crusty and delicious
This is a f**king restaurant... the waiters are not friendly, not polite, rude... here's why...
A happy outing turned furious...!
Yesterday was out with a grp of friends yumcha in Fitou Brasserie (in Desa Park City, the first restaurant, it has a giant screen to watch world cup)...
We ordered a drink each n enjoyed watching Uruguay vs South Korea... After finishing our drinks, the waiter quickly cleaned our table, we thought it was a GD SERVICE...
Then the bill came, I ask the waiter,"We didn't ask 4 bill," the waiter replied,"The rule is like that, u nd to pay." Then we didn't care much, we just pay him n continue the exciting world cup match...
After a while, the most f**king experience in my life happens... An indian waiter asked us to leave bcoz we don't hv drinks on our table anymore, (as mentioned, the glasses hv been cleaned), we told them we alr ordered n finished drinks n we just 1 2 sit down n watch world cup, he called another indian guy come with very arrogant voice(like wan to fight), he forced us to leave unless we order new drinks... What a f**king nonsense!!!!
That time i just wanna give him a heavy punch n dig his eyes out... but my friends ask me to leave, don't spoil our party mood... So we angrily moved to our next station to continue the match...
Dear friends, let's boycott this stupid f**king restaurant... They r just $$-minded ppl, not friendly at all, they don't deserve our $$$! I hope to see them bankrupt soon!!! Pls support me!
