Being a Foodster from Ipoh, I always get a hankering for good horfun. You know, the soft smooth as silk kind that drops down your throat and hard to find in KL. Happily one day I discovered TK Chong that serves very good hor fun. You can have it in a soup which is a wonderful prawn broth full of fat prawns and prawn wantons. The portions here are big and there’s loads of hor fun, white and wicked soft slithering down your throat like a whisper of decadent fabric. It does come all the way from Ipoh. I like it dry with a generous dollop of oil and oyster sauce on top. Again portions are very generous with loads of white chicken and prawns on top. Mix it all up on your plate and slurp it up!

"Soft, silky and just so good..."

The place also serves good white chicken with crunchy tauge. Entering it there were loads of people eating happily but sadly they ran out of chicken. Halfway through my meal the chickens arrived and judging by how soft the pieces are in the hor fun I daresay that the chicken rice here is another winner. Unfortunately after two plates of hor fun, I can't fit anything else. This place is always full. Come lunchtime and you have to queue outside but it’s worth the wait if just to satisfy your hor fun cravings until your next trip back to Ipoh. A huge bowl of hor fun sets you back RM3.50

Pros: Hor fun here is soft... almost Ipoh

Cons: Sometimes they run out of their white chicken

Address: Restoran TK Chong, No. 5-1, Jalan PJU8/51, Perdana Business Centre
