A sandwich is great snack. You can put anything in between slices of bread and it is a sandwich. Use pre-sliced bread or gourmet loafs, cold cuts of meat or stack up some veggies, there are no limits to how a sandwich is made. If you haven’t had a good sandwich in a while, here are 4 simple sandwich ideas you can try.

Perfect for a light lunch, a snack or a party

Serves 1 per sandwich people

If you're planning to serve sandwiches, use toothpicks to secure bread and fillings in place.

Don't squish sandwiches while trying to cut it. Use a serrated knife in a sawing motion to cut nice neat slices.

INGREDIENTS
    Sliced Bread
    Lettuce leaves
    Tomatoes

    Chicken
    1 cooked chicken breast
    2 tbsp. mayonnaise
    1 tbsp. sweet chilli sauce
    A drizzle of lime juice
    Salt and pepper to taste

    Tuna & Sweetcorn
    1 can tuna in water
    ½ can sweet corn
    3 tbsp. mayonnaise
    A drizzle of lemon juice
    Chopped spring onion
    Salt & pepper to taste

    Beef & Onion
    100g beef, tender cut
    ½ tsp. corn flour
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    Salt and pepper
    2 tsp. oil
    1 yellow onion, sliced
    Yellow mustard

    Fried Egg & Cheese
    1 egg
    1 cheese slice
    Mayonnaise
METHOD

Chicken
1. Shred chicken breast into small pieces and mix in mayo, sweet chilli sauce, lime juice and season with salt and pepper.
2. Butter 3 slices of bread. Layer 1st bread with tomatoes and lettuce. Layer 2nd bread with shredded chicken mix.
3. Stack it all up and cut diagonally into quarters and serve.

Tuna & Sweetcorn
1. Drain water from tuna can and empty it out into a bowl. Add in sweetcorn, mayonnaise, lemon juice, spring onion and season with salt and pepper.
2. Butter 3 slices of bread. Layer 1st bread with tomatoes and lettuce. Layer 2nd bread with tuna mix.
3. Stack it all up and cut diagonally into quarters and serve. .

Beef & Onion
1. Slice beef into thin pieces and tenderize with a meat hammer. Season with salt and pepper.
2. Heat up oil and sauté onions until caramelized. Season with a pinch of salt. Remove onions from pan.
3. Using the same pan. Heat up a little more oil and sear beef on both sides until cooked.
4. Lightly toast and butter 3 slices of bread. Layer 1st bread with tomatoes and lettuce. Layer 2nd bread with beef and onions. Spread some mustard onto the 3rd slice of bread
3. Stack it all up and cut diagonally into quarters and serve.

Fried Egg and Cheese
1. Fry egg over easy and put slice cheese on top.
2. Put egg in between 2 slices of bread. Spread mayo onto the outer side of the bread and gently toast on pan until cheese has melted and mayo has toasted into a nice golden colour. Flip and repeat.
3. Cut in half diagonally and serve.
