Don’t be fooled by some of the ingredients. This is meant to be a dessert, a tong sui of sorts. The flavour is interesting and it can be eaten either warm or cold.

Ingredients
1/2 Cup Barley
10 Chinese Red Dates
1 Pandan Leaves
2 Dry Tofu Fucuk, roughly chopped
1 Egg White
6-8 Sugared Winter Melon
1.5 Litre Water
3 Tbsp Corn Starch mixed with water

It may sound like a weird combination but give it a try
Don't overcook the barley till it becomes mush
Method
Boil barley with water, pandan leaf and the sugared winter melon. Once the barley is cooked, reduce the heat. Add in dry fucuk and corn starch. Switch off the flame, and pour in egg white slowly and stir gently. Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding sugar.
