Thumbprint Cookies

Thumbprint cookies are sweet buttery morsels filled with jam. It’s a simple recipe that you can whip up in a jiffy. Dainty and yummy, these cookies would be perfect for afternoon tea or served at a Raya open house.

Bake these buttery jam-filled coookies for Raya!

Serves people

An easy cookie recipe for you to try. Get your kids to help with the 'thumbprint'.

Make sure you cream the butter well, this will result in a light and crisp cookie.

    Mixture A

    250 g Unsalted Butter
    1 Egg
    120 g Icing Sugar
    1 Tsp Vanilla

    Mixture B

    220 g Flour
    80 g Corn Flour
    100 g Cornflakes ( grounded )
    1/2 Tsp Salt
    1/2 Tsp Baking Powder

    Mixture C

    A Bottle of Your Favourite Jam ( we used Strawberry )


1. Preheat oven to 150 C.

2. In a mixing bowl, cream all ingredients in Mixture A.

3. Sift Mixture B.

4. Once A is ready, stir in B until everything is well incorporated.

5. Once incorporated, scoop a bit of the dough with a teaspoon and roll it into a small ball. Then, roll it to flatten it a bit.

6. Press the middle of the flattened ball with your thumb to create a small indent. Pipe in a dollop of jam. Continue until you've used up all the batter.

7. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
