Dessert

Here’s a bit of a throwback cookie. Dahlia semprit evokes a sense of 70s, retro-shaped with a little cherry on top. It also comes from a time where there not many ingredients are available hence, it uses contents of your cupboard like condensed milk and corn flour. Bake them for a little bit of nostalgia…

"Edible flowers full of nostalgia!"

Ingredients

125g condensed milk
125g butter
230g corn flour
1 tsp. banana essence
A few drops of yellow colouring
Cherries (cut into little pieces)

Method

1. Mix butter into corn flour.

2. Add in condensed milk, banana essence and colouring.

3. Mix well until you get a smooth and pasty consistency.

4. Get a 'dahlia' mold. In the old days they used to be brass, now you can get plastic ones at bake shops.

5. Put in stiff batter into mold and pipe out little dahlia flowers. Add a small piece of cherry on top.

6. Bake for 10 minutes at 180C.
