The secret to a good roadside burger? Balance. It has to have the correct amount of mayo, black pepper sauce and chilli sauce combined with the grill to create a burger with just enough sloppiness and grease to make it messy yet sinfully scrumptious. At Hassan Burger, that’s exactly what you get.

Razali bin Hashim a.k.a Hassan started his business more than 18 years ago, he bought a burger from his favourite stall, took it home and basically reversed engineered it until he could figure out the correct formulation for each component. He developed his own combination, set up his stall and has been selling burgers ever since.

Go for the oblong if you want something substantial...

Customers love his Burger Oblong Daging Special Cheese, beef wrapped in a thin layer of omelette doused with perfect dollops of sauces and mayo. It is sloppy but not greasy. The patty is grilled, releasing a subtle smokey taste that is further complimented with fried shallots. All the makings of a great roadside burger present in this humble offering.

Look for this stall if you fancy a late-night snack.

Along with the usual beef, chicken and lamb patties, Hassan also offers Burger Rusa. If you’re game, try it. It has a meatier and juicier taste compared to the beef.

Although, his burgers are a huge hit, one of the most famous items on his menu is the Roti John. He adds a mix of spices in his Roti John, giving it a hint of curry flavour which surprisingly goes well with the combo of egg, onions and mincemeat.

For fans of Ramly Burgers, especially if you prefer a little restraint in your choice, Hassan Burger is the answer. A master of his craft, Hassan has been doing this for more than 20 years. Make your way to his stall in Ampang, grab a burger and you'll see why his burgers are so popular.
