Jyu Raku Japanese Restaurant

Chef Hideaki has been living in Malaysia for quite some time. He is married to a Malaysian and decided to stay here which allowed Malaysians all over to enjoy and afford his Japanese cuisine just the way it's done in Japan. A very nice restaurant setup too. Cosy!

Sashimi is so fresh, it'll almost swims to your plate.

Why come here for their Sashimi? Because it's fresh and thick! In most value places, the Sashimi's are thin. But not here. Tip: Come on Tuesday or Fridays when they get their fishes freshly delivered. You'll want to go for their Kame (sashimi assortment) which is salmon, maguro and tuna belly if you are lucky. A quick dip into their wasabi and soy sauce, then in your mouth. We recommend this!

The other great thing about Jyuraku are their Bento lunch and dinner sets which are an absolute steal! Currently, you can choose a main bento and for an additional price, choose sashimi or sushi as an add on. Our favourite combo is the sashimi bento with sushi add on which brings the price to about RM55. Where can get this elsewhere?

Jyuraku Sushi's look like this. Absolutely love their Yellowtail sushi. (Second sushi from the bottom). It has a nice bite and wasabi compliments this very well. Sushi platters normally comes with 5 sushis from Maguro (tuna) to Prawns. Sushi... we eat with hands.

The Unagi Don is also another recommendation. It has a very nice sweet yet balanced soy sauce base, with the unagi crispy on the outside but tender inside. If you are not a unagi fan, try their salmon don if you fancy a bit of rice with fresh raw salmon. The grilled mackerel is not bad too and it's definitely worth a try.

Not a big fan of their tempura but the Jyuraku Rolls are absolutely great. Cabbage slices wrapped around unagi, crispy shrimp, salmon roe with no rice! refreshing! A great little place in Subang Jaya to feel a bit of Japan.
