We dig the nasi lemak at this stall that serves up a Perak-ian Rendang Daging Hitam alongside the other sorts of dishes you get with our national dish. It's a little like a masak kicap but with a thicker gravy...
Try this with nasi lemak!
Along Jalan SG 3/10 Taman Sri Gombak
Nasi Lemak is without a doubt our national dish, each state has their own take and twists on their nasi lemak. The nasi lemak at this small stall in Taman Sri Gombak is highly influenced by the notheren state of Perak.
This humble stall is located along Jalan SG 3/10, there are a few stalls set up here, look around the middle of it. The name of the stall is Nasi Lemak Abang Is World Rendang Hitam Special. There are a number of lauks to choose from here, but hey, the stall says Rendang Hitam Special so my sights are focused.
The nasi lemak is crumbly and fragrant, and the santan is kept in check, so you won't get drowsy in the morning. The Rendang Daging Hitam is tender, and you can taste the whole spices that are infused within the rendang. It is very reminiscent of a Perak-ian ayam masak kicap but with a thicker gravy.
Together with the nasi lemak it tastes just lovely, the spices in the beef really compliments the nasi lemak well.
The Rendang Hitam is a nice change to the usual lauks of nasi lemak like ayam goreng and sambal sotong.
Besides the Nasi Lemak, they also serve Roti Canai, that is fluffly and crunchy. They serve it with their version of a kari sambal.
