SS12 Subang Jaya’s low-key nasi lemak is ons!
Nasi Lemak Kukus SS12 is no stranger in the Klang Valley Nasi Lemak scene, especially among the Subang Jaya locals. They have been a lunch and supper staple for the past 20 years. Light yet flavourful Nasi Lemak with their famous nose-flaring sambal, trust me that’s more than enough to get you drooling.

Abang Rahim and Kak Yati started out sharing their mouthwatering Nasi Lemak and lauk since the early 80’s. This hidden gem have been a prominent player in filling up those hungry tummies of “Subangites”.
Little bit of everything in every bite.
The moment you’ll get to the front of the stall, you’ll see two things! The humongous rice steamer and trays and trays of lauk pauk, neatly arranged on the table for you to feast on. Trust me, it is very tempting to try every single dish they have to offer.
Kak Yati and her famous Udang Sambal Petai
Okay let’s start eating, I decided to try their basic Nasi Lemak Telur Mata with Ayam Masak Merah. Kak Yati make her customers go crazy for two things at her stall, Udang Sambal Petai and Ayam Masak Merah. Being an Ayam Merah “Nut’’ myself, it’s obvious I would choose the latter.
This is what I'm talking about
Usually the Ayam Masak Merah would finish within minutes of Abang Rahim and Kak Yati opening up the stall. She uses the same base as her sambal but tones it down a notch so it won’t overpower the flavour of her fried chicken that she uses for the Ayam Masak Merah. I’d say it’s one of the best I’ve tasted, not including my mom’s of course. It’s crunchy, moist with just enough twang maybe from the asam keping or asam jawa in the dish. You gotta try this when you come through here.
You have to try her Fried Chicken as well.
Best thing about this Nasi Lemak is, it’s not heavy at all but still packs a mean punch and full of flavour. You can taste every single layer of the Nasi Lemak, sweetness from the pandan leaves, “lemak” from the santan with a dollop of Kak Yati’s famous fiery Sambal that satisfies your pedas craving but still not too hot to scorch your mouth. Don’t just take my word for it, go and check them out! Let your tastebuds do the talking.
