The story goes that Sofya & her husband Karel are true blue Sarawakian. When they got married ad later moved to KL, her Chinese muslim husband was hankering for Sarawak Laksa that was Halal but just couldn't find one.

That was then that the husband-wife team started experimenting as Sofya wanted to make her dishes the same as, not the ones in the restaurants; but macam the ones sold by street hawkers in Sarawak. SALTED was born.

We love the Sarawak laksa here. Has a great taste. Not too pedas, a kick of a flavour and a great balance with a Sarawak Laksa paste recipe they had made specially for them. The Shredded chicken and prawn toppings make it even more delicious. Remember to squeeze in the limau nipis and stir in the sambal paste into your laksa broth for that extra dang! kick. Sofya also gets her prawns fresh from the udang sellers in Kuala Selangor so you know that your laksa is fresh! No wonder.

The Mee Kolok pun best! You will be spoilt for choice between plain, prawn, beef and smoked duck. For a Halal version, these will be one of the best you will find in KL. The beef version is very nice. It has a light flavour with what we suspect to be sliced braised beef topping. Tender. We personally also love the smoked duck version tapi you need to be a duck fan as the taste can be a bit strong. Tapi best!

You want something stronger? Got. Mee Belacan. Its like slurping meehoon in belacan soup with pieces of sotong rebus thrown in at the side. Like that. We love it because we love belacan.. but if you don't....Stay away.

We absolutely recommend two drinks to wash down them delicious food. Ribena Sprite and also their multiple layer Teh Apong. The sweet Teh Apong is really caramelly. Different from the Teh Ais we have here.

So we leave you with a great review on Sarawak Authentic Local Taste Extra Delicious... that’s what SALTED means.
