Warung Soto Berlada

by Arslan Z. on Fri, February 23, 2018

I have to admit I’m a bit upset and embarrassed with the fact that I just find out about Warung Soto Berlada earlier this week. Warung Soto Berlada has been a Keramat Institution since the late 80’s and they dish out some of the best Soto and Mee Jawa in Klang Valley. Almost every evening it’ll be brimming with people trying to get a table to feast on their dishes.

Unique and utterly delicious soto broth!

Itching for some good hearty Javanese fare? Then you gotta take a crack at Warung Soto Berlada. Their menu is pretty straightforward, 3 different kinds of Soto, 3 Noodle dishes and 2 Rice dishes. That’s all you need! But the main thing you should gorge on is the Soto and Mee Jawa. Warung Soto Berlada made it’s mark because of these 2 delicious dishes.

As soon as the Soto reaches your table, the first thing you should do is take a whiff of that aromatic broth. Memang caya. They don’t skimp on freshness as everything on the menu is made fresh daily. You can taste every bit of this wonderfully made Soto. Take a little bit of bergedel (made well), the nasi impit and a spoonful of that flavourful kuah. Their secret blend of spices is a little heavy but not too strong, you can really taste the chicken and spices in it. Sometimes you get Soto broth that's made a little too thin. Not here though so eat it and you’ll know why people keep coming back to this place for a bowl of their whiz-bang Soto.

You can’t come to Warung Soto Berlada, without trying their Mee Jawa. The kuah is a sweet potato base combined with a hearty prawn stock, some spices and good udang kering which makes the kuah just Awesome dowh! I’m not a big fan of Mee Jawa but the one at Warung Soto Berlada is one of the best I’ve tasted, it's chock full of that udang flavour and a little sweet. All your Mee Jawa die hard fans out there, you guys gotta get your hands on this one!

The other thing that's unique about Warung Soto Berlada is they have THREE, yeap that's right THREE different sets of Soto! the first one is Soto Biasa, which your normal sized Soto with half of the smoky bergedel and shredded chicken for RM6. Second is the Soto Special and that gives you an extra serving of that moist shredded chicken and one whole bergedel for RM8 and the third one is Soto Ayam Special and that has one whole Bergedel, a half hard boiled egg and HALF a whole Chicken and that's only RM11! Talk about bang for your buck huh?
